Guerneville and the surrounds are a fun place to shop for holiday gifts or just enjoy the small town charm with the great old five and dime, galleries, fun restaurants, proximity to the beautiful coast and Armstrong Woods State Park

If you are here the evening of December 6th and it isn’t raining, Guerneville’s Parade of Lights is a fun and colorful small town, diverse  celebration of the holidays.

Throughout the winter some of the local restaurants do a price fixed dinner during the week.  Tuesday’s is River’s End’s Staff Meal, and on Sunday Applewood Inn does their Russian River night.  These are high quality dinners on a budget.

The wineries of the Russian River Valley produce some remarkable Pinots and Chardonnays.  Consider coming to the Winter Wineland on January 17th and 18th 2015.

Don’t forget that Valentines Day is on a Saturday in 2015.  Come see us then for a quiet, romantic getaway.

Also please remember that we have a year round event on the first Friday of every month. 1stfri

GOOD THINGS COMING TO GUERNEVILLE AND TO SONOMA COUNTY TOO

Monday, February 24th, 2014

We are anxiously awaiting the opening of a new restaurant in town.  This one is Seaside Metal and is due to open soon.  Check out this Inside Scoop article in the Chronicle.

Guerneville is no longer a food desert or a gourmet ghetto, but rather someplace very comfortable with lots of choices.  The annual Wine Road Barrel Tasting will be happening for the next two weekends.  It’s a great way to sample from barrels and purchase futures.  If you are interested click here.

The weekend beginning Feb 28th will be  the quieter of the 2 Barrel Tasting weekends.  This could leave time for a hike in the woods or at the coast.

For the weekend beginning March 7th there will be a whole lot happening beginning with our monthly downtown art walk in Guerneville

For more information on the Art Walk click here.

And last but by no way least is the Sebastopol Bluegrass and Folk Festival on Saturday afternoon and evening.  Click here to see the Sonoma County Folk Society information on the festival.

WE HAVE A ROOM FOR THE BLUES AND JAZZ

Tuesday, September 18th, 2012

We seldom have availability but do have one room left for the Blues and Jazz Fest this weekend.

It’s a great event and we are just across the river.

SUMMER’S HERE, THE DAMS IN AND THERE’S LOTS TO DO!!

Wednesday, June 20th, 2012

summer

There’s plenty of water behind that dam for swimming, canoeing or kayaking.  Johnson’s Beach is open and jumping.  Tomorrow there is a farmer’s market next to the plaza in town from 3:00 to 7:00 pm and Maria Muldaur singing from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Remember “Midnight at the Oasis”?

The concert will kick off a summer of fun at the river and is part of a 5 event series called Rockin’ the River.

The first Friday of every month through the summer one can enjoy a leisurely stroll through town some very nice local art work and, of course, food and wine at the First Friday Art Walk.

If you want to come up and enjoy town, consider booking a room online:

Lot’s going on at the River!

Monday, May 21st, 2012

First it’s Memorial Day this next week and that is always fun in Guerneville.  We have some availability, even a couple of Saturday/Sunday nights.

If you can’t make it up for that then there is the open studio events at:

Art at the Source

If you come the first weekend, you should be able to enjoy Guerneville’s First Friday Art Walk

How perfectly does that go together.

We have several good music venues too.  Jerry Knight’s River Theatre and Main Street Pizza to name a few host really good entertainment as does the Rio Nido Road House.

Hope to see you at the River.
