2 KINDS OF DOG DAYS AT THE RIVER!

Friday, June 1st, 2012

Usually “dog days” refers to the end of summer but not here at the River.  We have 5 cottages where we accept pets at no additional fee.  They are the Apple House, the Tree House, Osprey’s Nest, Robin and Quail.  There are good options for dining with your furry friend.  Garden Grill is one of the most popular, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, well behaved pets are allowed on the deck.    For wine tasting Marimar Estate Winery is pet friendly and actually does Yappy Hour on Tuesdays.  For more activities and especially river and coast walks with your favorite four legged friend check out the latest issue of Sonoma Discoveries for “Days of Dogs and and Water” by Frank Robertson.  You can also walk your dogs on leashes on the roads at Armstrong Woods State Reserve.

Lot’s going on at the River!

First it’s Memorial Day this next week and that is always fun in Guerneville.  We have some availability, even a couple of Saturday/Sunday nights.

If you can’t make it up for that then there is the open studio events at:

Art at the Source

If you come the first weekend, you should be able to enjoy Guerneville’s First Friday Art Walk

How perfectly does that go together.

We have several good music venues too.  Jerry Knight’s River Theatre and Main Street Pizza to name a few host really good entertainment as does the Rio Nido Road House.

Hope to see you at the River.

Just last week the garden was alive with blossoms, clematis, tulip trees and plum blossoms.

So many things in bloom.

...and more clematis

Plums and picnics

Recent storms have knocked some of the blossoms down but April 21st is the Apple Blossom Festival in Sebastopol.

Don’t forget Earthday April 22nd.

Book online a two night stay on the weekend of February 11, 2012, order the 2 crab & pasta dinners and proceed with the reservation.  Enter the promo code CRAB and we will pay for the tickets.  Of course, this is based on availability of accommodations and dinners.

This year the event is at the Shone Farm, which is the Santa Rosa Junior College’s outdoor educational lab for the agriculture and natural resources department.
